Supporting LGBTQUAI Families as a Birth and Postpartum Professional

Designed for birth and postpartum professionals, this workshop explores how doulas, midwives, nurses, educators and lactation consultants can build a practice that is inclusive to all families. We will discuss the diverse identities across sex assignments, gender identities, and gender expressions.

Participants will learn about inclusive language and resources to ensure clients of all backgrounds are able to benefit from their services. This course also provides suggestions for allyship with your clients when encountering medical staff and family members throughout the birth and postpartum period.
