At 19 years old, Sarah witnessed the beautiful, powerful and paralyzing experience of her nephew’s birth. Wanting to help, but not knowing how or what to do, Sarah discovered the career path she was meant for – empowering women to be heard, affirmed and informed in childbirth, nursing and parenting.
Over the course of the next few years, Sarah completed her Certified Labor Doula (CLD) training, and became the mother of two daughters of her own.
It was Sarah’s own postpartum experience of feeling alone, afraid, and fearful of reaching out that fortified her path: “No woman should ever feel that way, especially during childbirth.”
Determined to become a positive presence and voice for women throughout pregnancy, birth and the post-natal experience, Sarah went on to earn her Postpartum Doula Certification. She continually trains, writes and teaches as a Lactation Educator and Child Birth Educator ensuring women receive the support and advocacy every woman deserves.
Approachable, outgoing and easy to talk to, Sarah is dedicated to surrounding women and mothers with the strength and serenity of a community in support of women and women having babies. Her innate compassion and connection melds beautifully with her experience and knowledge as an overnight nanny, doula, nursing/lactation consultant, and family support consultant.
For any expectant, new and adjusting family, Sarah’s skills go well beyond a trusted set of hands. She offers the best women’s support possible, benefitting Mom, baby, family and household through lactation support, herbology, essential oils for the family, swaddling, singing, baby whispering, and housework – a large part of maintaining any household – especially one with a newborn. Laundry, tidying, and dishes miraculously get done. One family says, “Sarah is a godsend. I wake up rested, baby is fed, clean and happy, and the house is completely under control – she is our Indispensible Night Elf!”
As an advocate for women and healthy families, Sarah is enthusiastic to learn and share her knowledge with her clients. Her work and the people with whom she works inspire her and she is proud to be a part of the full-team experience Maternal Instincts Denver/Denver Night Nannies offers – not just to families and clients, but also to staff through continuing education, professionalism and no agenda.
In her own words: “We take care of our staff so they can focus on taking care of you. With us, you’ll never be alone. You’re covered from A to Z, from conception to Birth, with all of the tools to do so.”
